Tonight was my first attempt at anything Julia Child from my new cookbook, The Way to Cook, by Julia Child. The cookbook is very intimidating, but I am not scared. Ok, I am a little scared. The recipe seemed simple enough, but my roux didn't make the soup thick, so I attempted a fix, based on my vast knowledge learned from Food Network, and many hours of America's Test Kitchen. The changes worked, but I don't think it is what Julia had in mind.
The soup was great, and my bisquick biscuits helped as well. I am not sure what I did wrong from the beginning, but alas I will try again. I love to cook and this is just the beginning.
